The design phase is dictated by soothsayer-like vision. We begin with the end. Vision permits planning space that ultimately works and looks beautiful. At OUTinDesign we ensure that homes and commercial spaces are “finished’ before we start. The right chair relies on the wall that relies on the light that relies on the adjustment of its space within a house, office or restaurant. Space is a whole; what fills it is unique or personal or both, so it must work once furnished and completed with materials, finishes and details.

At OUTinDesign, we know that personalizing a space is daunting. We are experienced at interpreting just exactly what reflects a client’s personality. We then create a specific style and color reflection of that client and incorporate elements of design – finishes and furnishings – into the mix – to assure a space that satiates the client’s needs and wants. We work with painters, finish carpenters, kitchen and bath suppliers to update or transform tired rooms into unique client-centric spaces.

Experience restoring space in very old buildings in Europe and early exposure to buying 17th and 18th century property in France made for excellent hands-on training in the fine art of gutting, restoring and re-building both interiors and whole houses. OUTinDesign takes clients through the historic review process in architecturally-protected areas and hires specialized, craftsmen contractors to do everything from small one-room updates to whole house renovations to commercial build-outs.
